The updated 2025 BMW M2 has been detailed for Australia, packing more power and a slightly higher price.

The M2 Coupe will continue to be offered with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, though it’s now priced at $123,900 before on-road costs – an increase of $2200.

It’s due here in the fourth quarter of 2024.

It packs more grunt than before, with an extra 15kW of power in both manual and auto models (for 353kW) and a torque boost in the auto (up 50Nm to 600Nm).

That makes both the manual and auto M2 0.1 seconds faster to 100km/h, at 4.2 seconds and 4.0 seconds, respectively.

BMW says the auto model has received revised throttle mapping for greater responsiveness.

As with the 2 Series Coupe it’s based on, visual updates for the M2 are minor.

There’s a new wheel design, as well as four new exterior finishes: Sao Paulo Yellow, Fire Red metallic, Portimao Blue metallic, and Skyscraper Grey metallic.

Inside, there’s a new leather-wrapped, flat-bottomed steering wheel with a red 12 o’clock marker; the wheel can also be finished in Alcantara. The air vents also feature new control knobs.

The infotainment system now features BMW Operating System 8.5, which promises “intuitive and rapid control of functions” and coincides with a further reduction in the number of physical switches in the cabin.
